Heaters.
There are a lot of sauna manufacturers that use ceramic heaters and this one is no exception. Ceramic heaters are o.k. because they emit the infrared energy in the beneficial wave length range from 2 to 25 microns.
This manufacturer claims that their emitters radiate about one third of their output between 2 and 5.6 microns and two thirds from 5.6 to 25 microns, with that part spread out evenly around the 9.4 micron that the human body emits.
